Pune: 9 deaths, 201 fresh Corona cases under PMC today, total 3496 cases now
Pune, May 17, 2020: For the second consecutive day today, more than 200 new Coronavirus positive patients have been reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Yesterday, 202 patients were found while today 201 new cases have been detected taking the total number of patients to 3496. Nine patients died while 53 were discharged from hospitals today.
According to PMC, out of 3496 total patients 1751 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 194 people have died. There are 1551 active patients still admitted to different hospitals. There are 141 critical patients including 45 with ventilator support. Today swab samples of 693 patients were collected for testing. Till now samples of 30917 people have been tested.
Among the nine deaths, five were women and four men. Except one 20-year-old woman, all others were in the age group 60 to 84 years. They were from Kasba Peth, Yerwada, Padmavati, Shivajinagar railway station area, Galli no. 5 in Hadapsar, Sainagar in Dhankawadi, Guruwar Peth, Ganeshnagar in Yerwada and Bhagyodaynagar in Kondhwa.
