Pune: Aam Aadmi Party Demands Dhananjay Munde Be Named Co-accused in Beed Sarpanch Murder Case

Pune, 5th March 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest in Pune today, demanding that Former Minister and Parli MLA Dhananjay Munde be named as a co-accused in the Beed Sarpanch Murder Case and that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) file charges against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The protest, held near the District Collector’s office in Pune, came a day after Munde resigned from his ministerial post citing health reasons. AAP members expressed outrage over the deteriorating law and order situation in Maharashtra and its impact on common citizens.
The demonstrators alleged that Walmik Karad, the accused in the murder of Massajog Village Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, is a close associate and business partner of Dhananjay Munde. They claimed the murder was motivated by financial extortion, citing figures presented by BJP MLAs themselves.
AAP state spokesperson Mukund Kirdat accused the current government of being an alliance of corrupt individuals united solely for power. He named several leaders, including Sanjay Rathod, Tanaji Sawant, Manikrao Kokate, Chhagan Bhujbal, Ajit Pawar, and Jaykumar Gore, alleging that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is supporting these “tainted” politicians.
The party also demanded that all recent cases of atrocities against women in the state be tried in fast-track courts.
The protest saw participation from various AAP leaders and workers, including city president Sudarshan Jagdale, Dhananjay Benkar, Nikhil Khandare, Shivaji Dolare, and many others.
