Pune: Aam Aadmi Party To Contest Kasba Peth By-Election

Kasba, 5th February 2023: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started preparations to enter the Kasba Assembly by-election. The party preparing for the Municipal Corporation has decided to contest the by-elections to test the organization, and the candidate is likely to be announced on Monday.

The deadline for filing the nomination form is Tuesday. Voting will be held on 26th February. BJP has announced the candidature of Hemant Rasane. The Congress and Maha Vikas Aghadi have not yet announced the candidate. BJP is making efforts to make this election uncontested. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has today appealed to the opposition parties not to field candidates by contacting them over the telephone. Similarly, MNS President Raj Thackeray has written a letter and appealed to show political culture. So it is now necessary to see whether this election goes uncontested or not.

Aam Aadmi Party contested elections in all the eight assembly constituencies of the city last time. Similarly, their experience of the Lok Sabha election is with him. AAP has been building the party for two years to get the corporators of the party elected in the municipal elections. Since the municipal elections are held in Jamner, now the by-election of the Legislative Assembly has come, so we have decided to contest this election. AAP convener Vijay Kumbhar interviewed AAP aspirants on Saturday. Vijay Kumhar said that nine people have applied, out of which the name of one candidate will be decided and the candidature will be announced on Monday.
