Pune: Now Report Code Of Conduct Violations On Election Commission’s ‘cVIGIL’ App Now
Pune, 4th February 2023: To ensure that any model code of conduct is followed in the election process, citizens have been given the facility to register complaints of code of conduct violations in the constituency on the cVIGIL app created by the Election Commission of India.
The by-election program for 205- Chinchwad and 215- Kasba Peth Assembly constituencies of the district have been announced and voting will be held on February 26, 2023. Complaints regarding violation of the code of conduct, illegal advertisement boards, distribution of money to voters, distribution of liquor, display of gifts or lures, threats of any kind of weapon, etc during elections can be filed online. For this, citizens can download the cVIGIL app from Play Store for free.
After starting the app, creating a photo, video, or audio, and posting it, a complaint is registered. This information is sent to the Bharari team within five minutes of registering the complaint. The Bharari team immediately inquires about this and submits a report to the election decision officer and the concerned election decision officer immediately takes action on it, depending on the nature and number of complaints.
Deputy Collector and Coordinating Officer Sachin Ithape said, “After the cancellation of the complaint, a message is sent to the complainant through the app. Apart from this, complaints can also be filed with the code of conduct cell.”
It is also informed that 52 complaints registered since the announcement of the by-election program have been canceled.
