Pune: Accident Claims Life of 19-Year-Old on Sinhagad Road; Phone Use While Riding Blamed

Khadakwasla, 23rd September 2023: A 19-year-old youth lost his life in an accident while talking on the phone and riding his two-wheeler. The deceased has been identified as Prathamesh Suresh Nanavare, a resident of Benkar Vasti, Dhayari.

The fatal accident occurred near the National Water Academy (NWA) between Nanded Fata and Kirkatwadi Fata on Sinhagad Road around 7 pm on Friday. Nanavare was returning from a visit to his relatives in Kirkatwadi when he received a phone call. Despite the rainy conditions and lack of street lighting, he picked up the phone and began talking.

While engrossed in the phone conversation, Nanavare’s bike hit a road divider, causing him to fall and suffer a severe head injury. He lost consciousness on the spot and was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Despite medical intervention, Nanavare succumbed to his injuries. Haveli Police Station (Pune rural police) officials are conducting further investigations into the incident.
