Pune: Accident Claims Young Man’s Life On Koregaon Park Bridge, Speeding Car Collides with Two-Wheeler
Koregaon Park, 23rd December 2023: A 37-year-old man lost his life during treatment after a high-speed collision between a two-wheeler and a car on the bridge in front of St. Mary’s College in Koregaon Park, Pune. The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 AM on Wednesday.
The deceased, identified as Umesh Arun Kondegal of Balaji Nagar, Katraj, was riding a two-wheeler. The driver of the Volkswagen car, Niraj Suresh Arora (47) of Koregaon Park, has been booked by Koregaon Park Police Station, with a case filed against him.
According to officials, there was a head-on collision. The impact resulted in severe injuries to Kondegal’s right arm, causing profuse bleeding. Despite prompt response and efforts by Koregaon Park Police Station’s Police Naik Somnath Shinde, Police Constable Ombase, and other officers on night patrol, the victim succumbed to his injuries at Sassoon Hospital at 10 AM on Thursday.
The police have registered a case against Arora, charging him with causing the death of the young man due to negligence.
Police Sub-Inspector Navnath Kshirsagar is currently overseeing the ongoing investigation.
