Pune: Accident in Pirangut Claims Life of Young Driver, Leaves Wife and Daughter Injured
Pirangut, 24th December 2023: A fatal accident occurred in Pirangut when a speeding dumper collided with a four-wheeler, resulting in the immediate death of the driver and severe injuries to his wife and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Vikrant Anna Nikte from Pirangut.
The incident took place between 5:00 to 5:30 in the evening as Vikrant, along with his wife Vaishnavi and their young daughter, was returning to Pirangut from his in-laws’ home in Wanjale, located in the Mulshi taluka of Pune district.
The collision took place on the road at Pardhibuwa in Mutha pass, where a dumper, speeding from the direction of Pune towards Mutha village, crashed into Vikrant’s four-wheeler. The impact of the collision claimed Vikrant’s life instantly, leaving his wife and daughter critically injured.
The injured, identified as Vikrant’s wife Vaishnavi and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, were promptly rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent medical attention. The gravity of their injuries remains undisclosed at this time.
The Paud police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the tragic accident. Preliminary reports suggest that the dumper was traveling at a high speed on the road, raising concerns about road safety in the area.
