Pune: Wife Brutally Beaten to Death Over Uncooked Meal, Husband Arrested
Katraj, 24th December 2023: In a shocking incident that took place in the Dattanagar area of Katraj, a 42-year-old woman lost her life after being brutally beaten by her husband for failing to prepare dinner. The tragic incident took place at approximately 10 pm on Friday, December 22.
The victim, identified as Madhura Tanaji Kamble, a resident of Dattanagar, Katraj, succumbed to injuries inflicted by her husband during the violent altercation. The accused, Tanaji Shivaji Kamble, 43 years old and employed as a laborer, was promptly arrested by the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police in connection with the crime.
The heart-wrenching incident came to light when Madhura’s 19-year-old son, Piyush Tanaji Kamble, lodged a formal complaint at the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. According to the police report, the accused Tanaji, known to have a history of alcohol addiction, returned home around ten o’clock on Friday night.
Upon his arrival, Tanaji became infuriated with his wife for not having prepared food. This anger escalated into a brutal physical assault, with Tanaji mercilessly beating Madhura, causing severe injuries. Following the assault, an unconscious Madhura was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
Tragically, despite efforts to save her, Madhura succumbed to her injuries during the course of treatment. Consequently, the Police have registered a case of murder against Tanaji Shivaji Kamble, who is now in police custody.
Assistant Police Inspector Swapnil Patil is leading the investigation into the harrowing crime. Preliminary findings suggest a domestic dispute revolving around a seemingly trivial matter led to the fatal outcome.
