Pune: Accused Arrested For Drug Smuggling Through Instagram

Pune, 3rd December 2022: Social media platform Instagram is being used to deliver narcotics to consumers and another accused who smuggled drugs like Mephedrone and Charas. The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Crime Branch has arrested an accused. Earlier, two of his accomplices were arrested.
The arrested accused has been identified as Swapnil Vikas Bansode (28), a resident of G Cotter, Servet Cotters, Gokhale Institute, Deccan. Two kg 333 mg ganja worth Rs 76,670, 30 grams 070 mg charas, and other items worth Rs 1,28,170 have been seized from him.
The previously arrested accused have been identified as Akash Mahendra Thakar (22), a resident of Suncity, Anandnagar, Hingane, and Aniket Janardan Dhandekar (20), a resident of Sinhagad Road, Hingane Khurd. 47 grams 760 milligrams of mephedrone, and 650 milligrams of charas were seized from them.
Swapnil, Akash, and Aniket used to go to parties and pubs. They started smuggling drugs for money in the last three months. Drugs were provided to the youth as required by contacting them on Instagram. Senior inspector Vinayak Gaikwad said that the search is on for those who supplied them with these items.
