Pune: Accused Arrested From Goa For Circulating Video Of Girl

Sahakar Nagar, 31st January 2024: Sahakar Nagar Police have successfully apprehended the individual responsible for circulating an obscene video of a young girl on social media platforms. The accused, identified as Vinay Maruti Shekapure, a 23-year-old resident of Panaji, Goa, and native of district Nanded, was arrested in Goa. The court has subsequently remanded the accused to police custody.

According to the police investigation, Shekapure allegedly coerced the victim into participating in explicit video calls following a tumultuous breakup. In an attempt to inflict harm, he went on to create a fake identity and disseminated the recorded obscene video on popular social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube.

The victim, distressed by this violation, filed a formal complaint with the Sahakar Nagar police station, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter. Utilizing technical analysis, the police were able to trace the accused’s location to Panaji in Goa.

Under the directives of Zone 2 Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, the joint efforts of Assistant Commissioner Nandini Vagyani, Senior Police Inspector Surendra Malale, Police Sub Inspector Rahul Khandale, Assistant Police Inspector Sopan Navadkar, and other police personnel resulted in the successful detention of the accused from Panaji.
