Pune: Accused Persons Impersonate CBI Officer To Abduct Senior Citizen, Demand Rs 1.5 Lakh Ransom

Loni Kalbhor, 16th August 2021: A group of accused including a woman barged into the house of a 63-year-old man, looted his belongings and kidnapped him in a car. They had demanded Rs 1.5 lakh to release him.

Based on a complaint from the senior citizen from Koregaon in Haveli taluka, Loni Kalbhor police station under Pune city police has registered an FIR against Reshma Sheikh of Loni Kalbhor and others.

According to police, the accused Sheikh and some others had come to the elderly man’s house four days ago. They pretended to be CBI officers. They took away a laptop and mobile phone totally worth Rs 31,000 and bank documents. The complainant was beaten and forced into a car. The accused demanded a ransom of Rs 1.5 lakh to release him. They also threatened to file a false case against him if he did not pay.

They threatened to kill the complainant and took him to the Khed Shivapur area and released him. However, they decamped with his valuables.

The complainant came home and then lodged a complaint with the police. A case has been registered accordingly and further investigation is going on.
