Pune: Action Against 10,000 Citizens Who Polluted City

Pune, 8th November 2022: In the last seven months, action has been taken by the Solid Waste Management Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) against 10,091 citizens who have polluted the city. The Solid Waste Management Department informed that this action has been taken against those who throw garbage and litter in public places. A fine of Rs 46.54 lakh has also been collected from these citizens by the administration.

 

 

Along with increasing public participation, punitive action has been started by the Municipal Corporation under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Contractors have been appointed for road sweeping, and garbage collection within the boundaries of all field offices. However, the speed of action has also increased due to the increase in the dumping of waste in public places. Free telephone service is also provided to carry radars.

 

But even after that, riots are being thrown on the streets and public places. Therefore, action has been taken against those who make noise at night. Strict action will be taken against littering and spitting in public places. For this, orders have been given to the ward offices by the Solid Waste Management Department.
