Pune: Action Taken Against 22 Policemen For Taking Money From Passengers At Pune Railway Station

Pune, 29th April 2021: Action has been taken against 22 railway police in the case of forcibly taking cash from the laborers from other States. These policemen were transferred from Pune station to the headquarters. The action has been taken by the Superintendent of Police, GRP.

 

In the last few days, laborers have been flocking to the railway station to go to their villages due to lockdown. Some of these workers were taken to the open space under the pedestrian bridge of platform three and there they took money from the laborers.

The number of cases was increased recently. On Tuesday, MNS corporator Vasant More took note of this and arrived at Pune station with his party workers. He also presented a picture of it to a senior police officers. Taking note of this, the action was taken on next day by the GRP SP.

 

Speaking about this Vasant More said, “After getting complaints of extortion by police I personally went to the Railway station by changing my get-up and verified it. We submitted the photos to a senior officer of  Railway police and the action has been by them. I appreciate their action.”
