Over the past two weeks, senior bureaucrats, including Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase, have worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of visitors. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Chaube, and Pune Rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh were actively involved in revising plans and overseeing actions for the past ten days to ensure flawless execution.
Key Highlights of the Arrangements
Massive Police Deployment: Over 6,000 police personnel from Pune City Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, and Pune Rural Police were deployed to manage the event.
Support Facilities: Police assistance centers (Madad Kendras), mobile surveillance vans, medical teams, ambulances, drinking water stations, PMPML bus services, and designated parking zones were set up for visitors.
Safety Measures: Continuous patrolling by police vans ensured the safety of visitors, particularly women arriving during the early hours of January 1.
Guidance for Visitors: Senior officers, including DCP Himmat Jadhav, used loudspeakers to guide and assist followers arriving from across the nation.
The administration’s proactive approach extended to strategic deployment of ground teams within a 5-kilometer radius of Vijay Stambh to manage the heavy influx of visitors with precision.
With over 10 lakh devotees expected to gather at Vijay Stambh to commemorate Shaurya Divas, the collaborative efforts of various government departments ensured a secure and memorable experience.
