PUNE: AFMC HOLDS ILLUMINATI 2022

Pune, 2nd December 2022: Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune conducted undergraduate medical research conference, Illuminati, themed ‘Challenge Your Limits’ on 18-20 Nov 2022.

 

The 13th edition of the event, first held in 2010, was highly subscribed with over 450 out station student delegates attending in person. Surg VAdm Arti Sarin VSM, Director & Commandant AFMC was the Chief Guest of the event. AVM Rajesh Vaidya VSM, Dean & Deputy Commandant AFMC delivered the inaugural address praising the undergraduates from across the country for their enthusiastic participation.

 

Ms Aparna Prabhudesai, the only Indian to achieve the dual feat of scaling Mt Everest and to successfully complete the prestigious 89 km Comrades Marathon at South Africa, delivered the ‘B’ Batch Legacy Oration. Dr Salim J Thomas, an alumnus of AFMC and first armed forces doctor in the Indian mission to Antarctica, delivered the H’ Batch Hatchers’ Oration. The highlight of Illuminati was a live demonstration of a simulated disaster management drill and casualty evacuation by a helicopter, done within the premises of the college. Additionally, scientific workshops, debate, quizzes, hackathon, case study as well as poster and paper presentation events drew an enormous response.
