Pune: After Congress, Sambhaji Brigade Announces Protest During Amit Shah’s August 1 Pune Visit Over Lathi-Charge on NEET Protesters
Pune, 30th July 2026: Sambhaji Brigade has announced a protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Pune on August 1, alleging that the police lathi-charge on students protesting the alleged NEET examination paper leak at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi was carried out on Shah’s instructions.
The organisation has demanded that Shah take responsibility for the incident and claimed that the police action against students, who were peacefully raising their demands through democratic means, was an attack on democratic values. Instead of responding to the students’ legitimate demands, the government allegedly attempted to suppress the protest through force, the outfit said.
Shah is scheduled to visit Pune on Saturday to attend the Lokmanya Tilak Award ceremony. Sambhaji Brigade’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit said it will stage a constitutional and peaceful protest under the guidance of city president Satish Kale.
Through the protest, the organisation will demand justice for the students and call for an impartial inquiry into the police action against the protesters, along with action against those found responsible. Sambhaji Brigade has appealed to students, youth, social activists and citizens to participate in the demonstration.
Earlier, the Congress had also announced that it would stage a protest against Shah during his Pune visit, raising similar concerns over the alleged police action against students protesting the NEET paper leak.
