Pune: After First Action Last Week, Pimpri Cops Target Another ‘Golden Guys’ Mercedes For Traffic Violations; Rs 6,500 Fine

Pimpri Chinchwad, 28th September 2026: Pimpri traffic police on Sunday took action against a Mercedes car belonging to another member of the group popularly known as the ‘Golden Guys’, after a video of the vehicle parked at Sai Chowk went viral on social media.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vikrant Deshmukh took note of the video and directed officials to take action. The Mercedes, reportedly belonging to Sunny Waghchaure, was found to have black window film, a fancy registration plate and a modified colour during inspection.

Police also found that the vehicle had been parked in a manner that obstructed traffic and that there was a violation related to vehicle insurance. Action was subsequently taken under the Motor Vehicles Act.

The police removed the black film and fancy registration plate from the vehicle. The owner was fined a total of Rs 6,500 for various violations, including obstructing traffic, use of black film, a fancy number plate, modification of the vehicle’s colour and violation of insurance-related rules.

Last week, traffic police had taken similar action against a car belonging to Sanjay Gujar, another member of the ‘Golden Guys’ group.

Waghchaure and Gujar are known for wearing large quantities of gold and their modified gold-coloured cars have frequently attracted public attention. Police have taken action against their vehicles in the past as well. The latest action found the use of black film and other modifications that allegedly violated motor vehicle rules.
