Pune: After Ketan Agarwal’s death, Siya Goyal Searched ChatGPT On How To Express Grief, Say Police in Chargesheet

Pune, 23rd September 2026: The accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case allegedly did more than conduct a recce of the crime scene while planning the killing. Police investigation has found that they studied previous murder cases as well as deaths caused by falls into gorges in the Lonavala region, according to the chargesheet.

Police have also claimed that Siya Goyal searched ChatGPT for information on how to express grief and appear more distressed in front of Ketan’s family after his death.

According to the investigation, Ketan was taken to Lohagad Fort on June 18, 2026, where he was allegedly pushed into a gorge and died. His family subsequently reached the foothills of Lohagad. Police said the family became suspicious after Siya did not display grief in the manner they expected.

The chargesheet states that after returning home, Siya searched online for information on how to express grief and how to appear more emotionally distressed. Police said digital evidence recovered during the investigation included chats and shared information from Instagram, WhatsApp and Snapchat, along with other evidence from digital devices. These have been submitted to the court along with the chargesheet, police said.

Police have also claimed that Siya explored several methods of killing Ketan, including allegedly poisoning him through food.

Investigators found searches such as “Mushroom use woman kill family by mushroom”, “Is it easy to kill someone” and “How to manipulate people”, according to the chargesheet. Police said the searches raise the question of whether there was a separate attempt or plan to kill Ketan using mushrooms or food.

However, the precise connection between these online searches and the actual murder plot will have to be established through evidence and during the court proceedings, police said.

According to police, the accused initially believed that their plan would not lead to them being caught. However, Chetan later became apprehensive about being arrested. Police said Siya initially reassured him, while Chetan later comforted her when she too began losing confidence.

Investigators said that, on Ritesh’s advice, online searches were also conducted on how to behave if arrested, what answers to give during questioning and how to remain calm while dealing with the police.

Police have claimed that this preparation may have contributed to the accused appearing relatively calm and confident after their arrest.

According to investigators, on the day the murder plot was being planned, the accused initially studied the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, allegedly carried out by his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, and searched for information about mistakes made in that case.

They then allegedly looked up previous incidents involving people falling to their deaths in the Lonavala region. Police said the accused searched for information about incidents at Tiger Point and the death of Mansi Govindpurkar, a young woman who had reportedly fallen in the Lohagad area.

Investigators said this information was shared among Siya, Chetan Chaudhary and Ritesh Hange through social media and messaging platforms.

The allegations are part of the police chargesheet and will be subject to examination during the court proceedings.
