Lonavala, 26th June 2023: In a recent announcement, the Railway authorities issued a circular informing passengers about the cancellation of two local trains departing from Pune and Lonavala during the afternoon session between June 26 and June 29. The reason behind this inconvenience is an ongoing engineering block at Lonavala railway station.

As per the schedule, after the 10.05 am local train departs from Lonavala station, the subsequent local train will only be available at 5.30 am the following morning, creating a gap of approximately seven and a half hours. The 2.50 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. local trains originating from Lonavala station have been cancelled during this period. Meanwhile, Local trains departing from Pune station at 9.57 a.m. and 11.17 a.m. have also been cancelled.

The President of the Railway Passengers Association, Iqbal Mulani, expressed concern, highlighting the significant inconvenience caused by the cancellation of these trains. “The impact of these cancellations is expected to affect numerous individuals, including citizens, school-going children, and the working class, who rely heavily on these afternoon train services,” he said.

In light of these circumstances, it is advised by the railway that citizens take note of this situation and consider utilizing alternative public transportation options during the afternoon hours to avoid any inconvenience.
