Pune, 26th June 2023: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Pune has issued a weather forecast and warnings for Maharashtra State. Over the next five days, the state can expect light to moderate rain with fairly widespread to widespread rainfall distribution. However, certain regions should remain cautious as isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected.

The Konkan and Goa regions, along with the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, are likely to experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall from 26th to 30th June. Residents and authorities in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather information.

A particular concern is the Vidarbha region, where isolated extremely heavy rainfall is highly likely on 27th June. This heavy rainfall can lead to significant waterlogging, flash floods, and disruption of normal life. People residing in Vidarbha should be prepared for adverse weather conditions and take appropriate measures to ensure their safety.

The IMD Pune urges citizens across Maharashtra to stay alert and follow any directives or advisories issued by local authorities. It is essential to keep track of weather updates through reliable sources to stay informed about any changes or developments in the weather conditions.

As the weather situation unfolds, it is advised to stay indoors during heavy rainfall, avoid unnecessary travel, and be cautious of waterlogged areas. Local authorities and disaster management teams are requested to be on high alert and ready to respond to any emergencies that may arise due to the inclement weather.

The IMD Pune will continue to closely monitor the weather conditions in Maharashtra State and provide regular updates to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.
