Pune, 12th November 2025: Central Railway has announced that several major trains originating from Pune under the Pune Division will soon be upgraded with modern LHB (Linke-Hofmann-Busch) coaches on a permanent basis. The move aims to enhance passenger safety and travel comfort.

According to an official notification, the following Pune-origin trains will operate with LHB coaches from January 2026:

1. Train No. 11088 Pune–Veraval Express – Ex Pune with effect from 15 January 2026
Train No. 11087 Veraval–Pune Express – Ex Veraval with effect from 17 January 2026

2. Train No. 11090 Pune–Bhagat ki Kothi Express – Ex Pune with effect from 18 January 2026
Train No. 11089 Bhagat ki Kothi–Pune Express – Ex Bhagat ki Kothi with effect from 20 January 2026

3. Train No. 11092 Pune–Bhuj Express – Ex Pune with effect from 19 January 2026
Train No. 11091 Bhuj–Pune Express – Ex Bhuj with effect from 21 January 2026

4. Train No. 22186 Pune–Ahmedabad Express – Ex Pune with effect from 21 January 2026
Train No. 22185 Ahmedabad–Pune Express – Ex Ahmedabad with effect from 22 January 2026

The revised coach composition for these trains will include:
Two AC 2-Tier, Four AC 3-Tier, Eight Sleeper Class, Four General Second Class, One General Second Class-cum-Guard’s Brake Van, and One Generator Van totaling 20 LHB coaches.

About LHB Coaches:
LHB (Linke-Hofmann-Busch) coaches are modern, stainless-steel coaches designed in Germany and manufactured in India. They offer enhanced safety with anti-climbing features, fire-retardant materials, and improved passenger comfort. These coaches can operate at speeds up to 160 km/h, with a design speed of 200 km/h. They feature LED lighting, improved braking systems, and emergency facilities such as openable windows and emergency lighting units.

LHB coaches are being manufactured at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala; Integral Coach Factory, Chennai; and Modern Coach Factory, Rae Bareilly, and are gradually replacing older ICF coaches across the Indian Railways network.
