Pune-Ahmednagar Highway To Be Closed For Traffic From December 31 To January 1

Pune, December 26, 2020: After Pune District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh issued the order to impose Section 144 (curfew) in the Bhima Koregaon area it has also been decided to close the Pune-Ahmednagar Highway for traffic in connection with the Vijayasthambh program at Perne Phata.

All the traffic on this route will be diverted from 5 pm on December 31, 2020, to 12 pm on January 1, 2021. It has also been informed that Traffic coming from Chakan to Shikrapur and vice versa will be completely closed.

Also, all heavy vehicles coming from Ahmednagar to Pune and Mumbai will reach Pune via Shirur, Nhavare Fata, Nhavare Pargaon, Chaufula, Yavat, and Hadapsar. –

If any heavy vehicles are commuting from Pune to Ahmednagar they will be diverted from Kharadi bypass to Hadapsar, Pune-Solapur highway via Chaufula, Kedgaon via Nhavare, Shirur, and Ahmednagar highway. Heavy vehicles going to Alandi, Chakan from Solapur road will be commuting towards Alandi and Chakan from Vishrantwadi via Hadapsar, Magarpatta city, Kharadi bypass.

Heavy vehicles from Mumbai to Ahmednagar will commute from Wadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed Manchar, Narayangaon, Allephata Road, Ahmednagar.

The District Collector has directed to divert light vehicles from Mumbai to Ahmednagar via Wadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Pabal, and Shirur.

This year only a symbolic programme has been allowed at the Jaystambh on January 1. Only those who have been issued passes by the Pune Rural police would be allowed to attend the programme.
