Pune Airport Climbs to 74th Rank in Global Airport Service Quality Index
Pune, 25th November 2024: Pune Airport has achieved a notable improvement in passenger service standards, moving from the 76th to the 74th position in the prestigious Airport Service Quality (ASQ) index. However, certain facilities at the airport still need further enhancement. With Union Minister of State for Aviation Muralidhar Mohol hailing from Pune, expectations are high for further improvements in passenger amenities.
The ASQ index, published by Airports Council International, assesses the quality of services at 400 airports across 95 countries, including 14 airports in India. Based on the survey conducted during the July-September 2024 quarter, Pune Airport scored 4.84 out of 5 points, a slight increase from its 4.81 score in the April-June quarter. This progress reflects a continuous focus on improving passenger facilities.
Key Aspects of the ASQ Index:
-The index evaluates 31 critical areas of airport services, such as:
-Availability of seating near gates.
-Accessibility and ease of navigation within the airport.
-Flight information availability.
-Courtesy of staff.
-Quality of Wi-Fi and charging stations.
-Cleanliness and restroom facilities.
-Safety measures and recreational options.
-Areas of Improvement for Pune Airport
-Despite its progress, Pune Airport still faces challenges in three key areas:
-Vehicle access and parking facilities.
