Pune Airport: Flights to Delhi and Amritsar Cancelled Due to Dense Fog
Pune, 20th December 2025: At least eight flights connecting Pune with cities such as Delhi and Amritsar were cancelled on Friday due to dense fog in northern India, leaving several passengers stranded, officials said.
Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke confirmed that four flights scheduled in the morning were cancelled as a precautionary measure.
“Flights were cancelled primarily because of heavy fog in Delhi and Amritsar. Among them were an IndiGo flight on the Amritsar-Pune-Amritsar route and an Air India flight operating between Delhi and Pune,” Dhoke said.
He added, “In addition, one flight each of SpiceJet and Air India Express had to be cancelled due to operational reasons unrelated to weather.”
A SpiceJet official later clarified that two of their flights — Delhi to Pune and Pune to Goa — were called off due to adverse weather conditions. Air India Express, meanwhile, updated its website to reflect cancellations including the Delhi-Pune and Pune-Delhi sectors, citing poor visibility caused by fog.
Passengers affected by the cancellations were advised to contact airlines for rescheduling or refunds. Airport authorities said they are closely monitoring weather conditions and coordinating with airlines to minimise further disruption.
