Pune : Ajinkya Firodia attacked with knife by wife Aparna Firodia, FIR registered
Pune, October 11, 2019 : The Pune city police has booked businessman Ajinkya Firodia‘s wife Aparna Ajinkya Firodia (40) for attempt to murder after she allegedly assaulted him with knife on the night of October 7.
Ajinkya Firodia (40), a resident of Swagat Bungalow on Pankunwar Firodia Road, off Senapati Bapat Marg, Shivajinagar, has lodged the complaint in this regard with Chatushrungi police station. He is managing director of Kinetic Engineering Limited. His father Arun Firodia is chairman of Kinetic group.
According to police, the incident took place around 7.25 pm in the kitchen. They were having dinner when Aparna pointed her mobile phone at him and asked him whether he was referring to her in a conversation. Later, when Ajinkya tried to snatch the mobile phone from Aparna, she entered into a scuffle with him. Ajinkya told the police that Aparna tore his shirt and attacked him with a knife kept on the dining table. Ajinkya suffered cuts under his right eye and on his nose. Ajinkya was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Later, he lodged complaint with police. Initially, cops had filed FIR for offence under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 352 (punishment for assault), 427 (damage to property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). On Thursday, police invoked section 307 (attempt to murder) against Aparna. However, she was not arrested till late Friday evening.
