Baramati, 23rd April 2025: Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) leader Yugendra Pawar has broken his silence on the speculations surrounding a possible political reunion within the Pawar family. He was attending an event in Baramati, where he was seen touching the feet of Sunetra Pawar, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Since the NCP split in 2023, when Ajit Pawar rebelled against his uncle, the political dynamics in Maharashtra have changed significantly. During both the Lok Sabha elections and the recent Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, the Pawar family experienced internal tussles. Yugendra Pawar aligned himself with the Sharad Pawar-led NCP at the time of the split.

Speaking to the media, Yugendra Pawar said, “The Pawar family is united. In the end, it’s a blood relation. However, when it comes to coming together in politics, that decision will be taken by ‘Saheb’ and ‘Dada’. Whatever they decide, we will support.”

When asked about the gesture of touching feet, Yugendra replied, “Even though Dada has taken a different path in politics, he is my uncle. Sunetra Pawar is my aunt. We were together for 32 years. If one year goes differently, I don’t believe it means everything ends, nor would my aunt think so. Whatever happens in the political field, my respect for my uncle and aunt will always remain. He is still my uncle today.”

He also praised Ajit Pawar and Sunetra Pawar for their contributions to the party. “Sharad Pawar founded this organisation. Ajit Pawar and Sunetra Pawar worked hard to take it forward. The Pawar family has always kept family and politics separate,” said Yugendra Pawar.
