Srinagar/Nanded, 23rd April 2025: A couple from Nanded, Maharashtra—Krishna Madhukar Lolge and Sakshi Krishna Lolge—have shared their terrifying experience of narrowly escaping a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The incident has left them shaken but grateful for the swift response of local residents and their travel coordinators.
“We had just left the area when the firing started. A horse guide nearby rushed us to safety without hesitation,” said Krishna Lolge, recounting the tense moments.
Their local coordinators, Ahmed Bhai and Altaf Bhai, immediately escorted them back to their hotel. It was only after reaching the hotel that the couple learned the area they had exited moments earlier had come under attack. On their return journey, they saw security forces moving swiftly to secure the region.
“Thanks to the timely action of the locals, we are safe and able to record this message. If not for them, we might not have made it,” Krishna added.
Sakshi Lolge echoed the sentiment, highlighting the compassion and support extended by the local community. “The attack has unsettled many tourists like us, but the local people stood by us. They constantly checked on our well-being and even provided food and water to those affected.”
The couple also acknowledged the prompt response from the central government, noting that multiple helpline services have been activated in Pahalgam. “The Indian Army is also present to assist tourists. There’s no need to panic,” Sakshi said, assuring fellow travelers.
