Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th January 2025: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar has announced a 50% property tax concession for differently-abled persons. Pawar stated that a proposal regarding this will be sent to the Maharashtra State Government. The concession will be similar to the one provided to ex-servicemen.

Pawar made this announcement during his speech at the Purple Jallosh event organized by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Divyang Bhavan for the empowerment of differently-abled persons. At the event, Pawar announced various decisions to empower differently-abled people, including a separate percentage allocation in the upcoming budget in March.

In addition to the 50% property tax concession, Pawar advised all civic bodies to be more lenient when taking action against encroachments by differently-abled hawkers. He emphasized that authorities have no right to remove the means of livelihood for these individuals. However, Pawar also cautioned differently-abled people against setting up stalls in areas that might negatively affect the city.
