The “Miracle on Wheels” show, featuring wheelchair-bound dancers, showcased a stunning blend of Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Sufi dance and Martial Arts.

The three-day Purple Jallosh festival, organized by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Divyang Bhavan Foundation, aims to empower and integrate differently-abled individuals into mainstream society. The event, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar yesterday, is being held at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Center in Chinchwad until tomorrow.

Rajesh Agarwal, Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, praised the event as “the largest festival organized by a local self-government body in India.” He described the Miracle on Wheels performance as “incredible and extraordinary.”

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh expressed his emotional response to the show, stating, “The Miracle on Wheels program is incredible and inspiring for everyone. The confidence with which all the artists overcame their disabilities to present this amazing cultural program is highly commendable.”

The performance began with a Ganesh Vandana, followed by Shiv Nritya, and a jugalbandi of Bharatanatyam and Kathak. The artists also presented a dance interpretation of the Hanuman Chalisa, depicting scenes from the Ramayana. A heart-stopping martial arts display and a soul-stirring Sufi dance to the popular song “Khwaja Mere Khwaja” captivated the audience. The show concluded with patriotic dance numbers that evoked a sense of national pride.
