Pune: Alert Issued For People Residing Along River Banks, Water Being Released From Khadakwasla And Pawna Dams

Pune, 12th September 2021: As all dams supplying water to Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities have become full, water is being released in Mutha and Pawna rivers.

From 6 pm today, 5136 cusecs of water is being released into the Mutha river from the Khadakwasla dam.

Executive Engineer Vijay Patil from the irrigation department informed that the discharge from the Khadakwasla dam may increase depending on the rainfall. Therefore, people residing along the river banks should take precautions.

1) Khadakwasla – 100%

2) Panshet- 100%

3) Varasgaon- 100%

4)Temghar- 99.55%

Total Inflow 4 Dams=198 million cubic feet (mcft)

Total contents of 4 Dams- 29.13 TMC/99.94%
Last year- 29.03 TMC/ 99.59%

Pawna dam is 100% full and from 8 pm today, 3126 cusecs water will be released.
