Pune: Allegations of Political Interference Rock Polling Process in Shirur Lok Sabha Constituency

Hadapsar, 13th May 2024: A situation arose at a polling station in Hadapsar Vidhan Sabha constituency where polling agents were halted with campaign materials, sparking unrest. Mahavikas Aghadi candidate for the Shirur Lok Sabha Constituency and sitting Member of Parliament, Dr Amol Kolhe, raised concerns and shared a video on his social media.

“Chaos in administration in Manjari (Hadapsar Vidhan Sabha), Shirur Lok Sabha Constituency..! Workers of the ruling party are directly acting as polling agents inside the polling station!” Dr. Amol Kolhe posted this message on his social media accounts, accompanied by a perplexing video.

The shared video depicts polling station staff confronting an agent, questioning his affiliation. The agent admits to representing Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil. The staff questions how he entered with campaign materials and whether the police were involved.

Amidst this, Amol Kolhe reacted, denouncing the incident at the Manjari polling station and pledging to file a complaint.
