Pune, 12th March 2023: In the budget session, Rs 341.35 crore has been given for development works in Maval taluka. MLA Sunil Shelke informed that this includes road works and funds for the State Excise Department building.

During the Shinde-Fadnavis government, the plan was to stop the development works. The Mahavikas Aghadi Government had also suspended the development works approved by the District Planning Committee. Due to this, MLA Shelke took an aggressive stand in this regard in the winter session and kept the government on edge. Also, at the beginning of this budget session, MLA Shelke pricked the ears of the government regarding the funding of development works.

Meanwhile, the pursuit to bring in at least Rs 400 crore for Maval in this budget was successful. The works of Khadkale, Kadhe, Kale Colony, Parndavadi, Bebadohol, and Pimpalkhute-Sivane roads in the taluka are included under the title of Hybrid Community. A total of 32,600 km of roads will be constructed at Rs 10 crore per km, with a cost of Rs 326 crore.

Meanwhile, funds were also required for the Sky Walk Project, Kundmala Bridge, Kothurne Bridge, Varale-Nanoli Bridge, and Sports Complex, which are important in terms of tourism. However, MLA Shelke regretted that this government did not provide any kind of funds for these works.

Sunil Shelke said, “The Mahavikas Aghadi government had given more than Rs one thousand crore funds for Maval. In the budget of the coalition government, development works worth about Rs 350 crore have been approved for Maval taluka.”
