Pune: Altap Shaikh From Baramati Clears Civil Services Exam

Pune, 24th September 2021: Altap Mahammad Shaikh, a 28-year-old youth from Katewadi in Baramati taluka of Pune district has cleared the coveted civil services exam with 545 rank.

He is currently working with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He had earlier cleared the assistant commandant exam for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in 2018. Last year, he passed the national eligibility test (NET).

Shaikh studied at Zilla Parishad (ZP) School in Katewadi. From 6th to 12th, he studied in Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya in Palus (Sangli). He is a graduate of BSc in Biotechnology from Shivaji University Kolhapur. He is the first graduate of his family.

He joined the MHA in 2015 but continued to prepare for various competitive exams.

Speaking about his inspiration, Altap told PunekarNews.in, “My father ran a two-wheeler garage in Islampur. Many government officers used to come there. I was inspired by them to become a government officer.”

His family had shifted to Islampur in 1999.

Altap said that he prepared for the competitive exams on his own and took guidance from Sunil Musale’s Rashtrawadi Career Academy in Baramati.

“I have achieved all this because of my father late Mahammad Shaikh and mother Rahimat Shaikh”, Altap said.

He has been flooded with congratulatory messages and invites for felicitation.
