Pune, 24th September 2021: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final result of the Civil Services exam 2020 on its website, upsc.gov.in.

The Commission has released the list of candidates who will now join various central services in addition to IAS, IPS and IFS.

Shubham Kumar, B.Tech in civil engineering from IIT Bombay has topped the list. Shubham, who hails from the Katihar district of Bihar, is an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, is undergoing training at the National Academy of Defence Financial Management in Pune.

“I’ve been preparing since 2018. I could not believe the results today. I will perform to my fullest capacity in whichever position I’m assigned to. I used to have a fear of disqualification before the prelims and mains. I was fortunate to have the constant support of my friends and family. I had a good study plan, used to self analyse so my preparation was on track”, IDAS probationary officer Shubham said.

Two other IDAS probationary officers Suman Nala and Nilesh Gaikwad, who are batchmates of Shubham Kumar at the academy have also cleared the coveted exam.

Suman hails from Nagaur in Rajasthan. She has secured 439th rank. It was her fifth attempt. She had earlier cleared the Railway Protection Force (RPF) exam. Her husband is an IPS officer of Gujarat cadre.

She is a Computer Science Engineer and graduated from BITS Pilani in 2012 and worked with Oracle for three and a half years.

Nilesh Gaikwad from Latur district in Maharashtra has secured 629th rank.
