Pune: Ambegaon Illegal Mineral Transport: Seven Hyva Trucks Seized, Rs 25.71 Lakh Fine Imposed
Ambegaon,29th September 2026: The Ambegaon-Junnar Sub-Divisional Office has launched a crackdown on the illegal transportation of minor minerals in Ambegaon taluka, seizing seven Hyva trucks allegedly carrying illegally transported stone and debris on the Peth-Bhavadi road.
During the inspection, officials found a total of 56 brass of stone and debris being transported in the seven vehicles. The vehicles were subsequently seized and deposited at the Tehsil Office premises in Ghodegaon.
Officials imposed a fine of ₹3,67,400 on each vehicle, taking the total penalty to ₹25,71,800.
The action was conducted under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Officer Archana Tambe. According to officials, the vehicle drivers or owners failed to produce valid documents, including permits for minor mineral extraction, transportation passes, royalty receipts or challans.
Following the inspection, action was initiated under the Maharashtra Minor Mineral Extraction (Development and Regulation) Rules, 2013.
The seized vehicles were identified as MH-12-YB-4740, MH-12-YQ-5776, MH-14-HU-5090, MH-14-LX-9945, MH-14-KU-6345, MH-14-LX-9954 and MH-14-LX-5095.
The Revenue Department’s action comes against the backdrop of complaints regarding illegal transportation of minor minerals and sand in the Ambegaon area. Officials said enforcement drives will continue to prevent illegal extraction and transportation and protect government revenue.
Naib Tehsildar Sachin Munde, Village Revenue Officers Ravi Kadam and Anup Gavhane, along with other officials, participated in the operation.
‘No Permission for Illegal Minor Mineral Transportation’
Archana Tambe, Sub-Divisional Officer, Manchar, said, “Illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals causes revenue loss to the government. Such activities will not be permitted. Strict action against illegal transportation of minor minerals will continue in Ambegaon and Junnar talukas.”
