Pune: Another Woman Dies by Suicide After Harassment in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Husband Booked
Dighi, 10th June 2025: Another woman in Pune district has ended her life due to her husband’s alleged torture, with the Vaishnavi Hagawane case still fresh in the public’s memory. Sujata Narsingh Mane (32) died by suicide after hanging herself in her own home. She was allegedly being harassed for dowry.
Her father, Shivaji Sampatrao Suryawanshi (56), a resident of Thergaon, filed a complaint at Dighi Police Station, following which a case has been registered against Narsingh Wamanrao Mane (33).
According to police reports, Sujata and Narsingh were married in June 2019. Allegedly, the harassment began soon after marriage. Narsingh reportedly made frequent derogatory comments about Sujata’s appearance, calling her “ugly,” and pressured her to bring money from her parental home. He also allegedly kept her jewelry in a bank as collateral for money.
Sujata faced both mental and physical harassment, according to the complaint. Unable to bear the abuse any longer, she took her own life on 3rd June 2025. Dighi Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
