Pune: Pimple-Saudagar Man Loses Rs 32 Lakh in Trading App Scam, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Launch Investigation
Pimple Saudagar, 10th June 2025: A resident of Pimple Saudagar has fallen victim to a major online trading scam, losing Rs 32 lakh after being lured by promises of high profits through a trading app. The incident occurred between 18th May and 4th June, when unidentified individuals contacted the 55-year-old complainant and convinced him to join a WhatsApp group. There, he was encouraged to invest in the app with assurances of significant returns.
According to police, the complainant transferred Rs 32 lakh to the trading platform but received neither the promised profits nor a refund of his investment. Upon realizing he had been cheated, he filed a complaint at the Sangvi police station. Authorities have registered a case against the unidentified suspects and are investigating the fraudulent scheme.
