Pune: Anti-Narcotics Cell Nabs Woman with 3.8 Kilograms of Ganja in Khed Taluka

Khed, 6th May 2024: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has arrested a senior woman for her involvement in selling Ganja (marijuana), while a case has been registered against her partner. More than 3.8 kilograms were seized from her. This action took place at Khalumbre in Khed Taluka on Sunday (5th May) at 9:50 AM.

Police Constable Mitesh Mohan Yadav from the Anti-Narcotics Cell complained to the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station. A 54-year-old woman from Khalumbre, Khed, has been arrested, while her accomplice, Vishal Ghojage, a resident of Vadgaon Maval, is currently absconding.

According to police reports, the woman came to Khalumbre on Sunday to sell Ganja. She was found in possession of 3.81 kilograms of Ganja valued at Rs 1,90,500. The Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested her and seized the drugs. During interrogation, she confessed to obtaining the Ganja from a man named Vishal Ghojage in Vadgaon Maval.

The police have filed a case against the accused woman and her male accomplice under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985. Police Sub-Inspector Jaybhaye from the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station is conducting further investigation into this matter.
