Pune: Anti-Narcotics Cell Seizes 13 kg Marijuana Worth Rs 2.81 Lakh, Arrest Three in Separate Operations

Pune, 26th March 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Pune Police’s Crime Branch has seized 13 kg of marijuana (ganja) worth Rs 2.81 lakh and arrested three individuals in separate operations. The Anti-Narcotics Squad 2 apprehended two suspects in Yerawada, while another wanted accused was arrested in Kondhwa.

Acting on information received by Police Constable Sandeep Shelke, the Anti-Narcotics Squad 2 arrested Jagdish Barela, 18, from Jalgaon, and Pavan Barela, 22, from Madhya Pradesh, in the Yerawada area. The team seized 13 kg of marijuana from their possession, estimated to be worth Rs 2.81 lakh. A case has been registered at Yerawada Police Station in connection with this seizure.

In a separate operation, the Anti-Narcotics Squad 1 arrested Nadim Memon, 25, a wanted accused from Kondhwa. Police Constable Sahil Shaikh had provided the tip-off leading to Memon’s arrest. The Anti-Narcotics Squad 1 is currently handling his custody.

These operations were carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime 2) Rajendra Mulik. The team was led by Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad.
