Pune: Argument At Restaurant Leads To Firing On Former Sarpanch In Manjari

According to the information given by police, Purushottam Dharwadkar had gone to Shriram Hotel for dinner with some other people. Sanjay Zurange, who was sitting at his table, got into an argument with Chandrakant Ghule. Dharwadkar had nothing to do with him nor the argument.

After the altercation, accused Ghule called his accomplices. While Dharwadkar was leaving the hotel after a meal, three persons came on a moped. One of them fired at Dharwadkar. The bullet did not hit Dharwadkar. Then the accomplices beat Dharwadkar with stones and bricks.

Sarpanch Dharwadkar was severely injured when a stone was thrown at his head. The accused then threatened the crowd and fled. People rushed Dharwadkar to the Noble Hospital. He is being treated at a hospital.

Regarding this, Anna Dharwadkar said that he had nothing to do with this quarrel. Ghule and Nandu Shedge are known to Chandrakat.

“Due to this unwanted fight, I have suffered head injuries due to beatings by their friends. The doctor has put 8 to 9 stitches. Hadapsar police have registered a case of attempted murder and further investigation is underway,” he said further.
