Pune: Armed Robbers Loot Ornaments From Jewellery Shop In Mohammadwadi, Police Investigation On

Kondhwa, 18th May 2024: In a daring daylight heist, a jewellery shop was robbed at gunpoint in Mohammadwadi today at noon. The robbers, posing as customers, entered BGS Jewelers in Wadkar Mala locality and held the owner and employees at gunpoint, making off with valuable ornaments.

The robbers threatened the owner and staff with weapons, demanding the jewellery and threatening to kill anyone who resisted. The entire incident is captured by CCTV cameras in the shop.

Upon learning of the robbery, senior police officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Shailesh Balkawade, DCP (Crime Branch) Amol Zende, and DCP (Zone 5) R. Raja, promptly arrived at the spot. They directed the investigation team to track down the culprits.

The investigation revealed that the robbers escaped on two-wheelers. In response, police set up checkpoints and cordoned off the areas of Hadapsar, Wanowrie, and Kondhwa to inspect all suspected vehicles. CCTV footage shows the robbers with their faces covered by handkerchiefs, making identification more challenging.
