Pune: 22-Year-Old Youth Brutally Murdered In Kothrud After Chase
Kothrud, 18th May 2024: A 22-year-old man, Shrinu Shankar Vislawat, was brutally murdered with sharp weapons by a group of armed youngsters in Dahanukar Colony, Kothrud, late Thursday night.
According to police, Vislawat, a resident of Lakshmi Nagar in Dahanukar Colony, was attacked around 11:45 PM. The incident was reported by his 17-year-old friend, who lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at Alankar police station on Friday.
Investigations by crime branch officials led to the arrest of five assailants, including a minor. Police reported that Vislawat and his friend were riding a two-wheeler through a lane in Dahanukar Colony when their motorcycle was rammed by the assailants.
After being knocked to the ground, the attackers assaulted Vislawat and his friend with sharp weapons. While the friend managed to escape, Vislawat was chased down and killed around 12:15 AM.
Police suspect that the murder was a result of a previous dispute over local dominance between the accused and the complainant. Senior Police Inspector Sunita Rokde is leading the investigation.
