Pune: Armed Robbers Loot Valuables Worth Rs 66.7 Lakh From Doctor Couple In Lonavala

Pune, 17th June 2021: Six armed dacoits broke into the bungalow of Dr Hiralal Khandelwal and looted valuables worth Rs 66.7 lakh. The incident took place around 2.30 am today.

 

According to police, the dacoits opened a sliding window on the first floor and entered the house with sharp weapons, while others stood outside. As the door of Dr Khandelwal’s bedroom was open, the robbers entered the room directly. They threatened him and his wife with sharp weapons and tied their hands and feet.

The dacoits decamped with valuables worth Rs 66.7 lakh which included Rs 50 lakh cash and ornaments worth Rs 16.7 lakh. They were in the bungalow for about half an hour.

After learning about the incident, Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Additional SP Vivek Patil, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Lonavala) Navneet Kanwat, Local Crime Branch (LCB) Police Inspector Padmakar Ghanwat, Lonavala city police station’s Police Inspector Dilip Pawar visited the spot to supervise the investigation.
