Pune: Army Public School Dighi Celebrates 78th Independence Day with a Focus on Women Empowerment

Vishrantwadi, 15th August 2024: With freedom in their hearts and pride in their spirits, the 78th Independence Day celebrations at Army Public School (APS) Dighi unfolded under clear skies, paying a grand tribute to the nation’s freedom and the spirit of Women Empowerment. The event commenced with the powerful strains of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) band, setting the tone for the day as they welcomed the Chief Guest, Brigadier S.R. Mazagaonkar (Retd.).

Brigadier Mazagaonkar led the celebrations by hoisting the National Flag, a symbol of pride and unity. The flag-raising was accompanied by the National Anthem, a stirring reminder of collective patriotism and the sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom.

This year’s celebrations revolved around the theme of “Viksit Bharat,” highlighting India’s commitment to becoming a developed nation by 2047. A standout moment of the event was the performance by the Girls NCC Band, which showcased courage, discipline, and the essence of Women Empowerment.

The celebration continued with a series of engaging performances, including eloquent speeches, musical and poetic renditions, and a moving patriotic song. Among the highlights was a dance performance sequence set to the powerful tunes of ‘Mardaani’ and ‘Aigiri Nandini,’ which celebrated the strength and resilience of women with grace and vigor.
