Pune: Arrested Murder Suspects Paraded In Keshavnagar To Reassure Residents
Keshavnagar, 11th May 2023: A 60-year-old man was brutally murdered on April 30th in the Keshavnagar area of Pune. He was stabbed to death by a group of assailants armed with knives following an altercation.
Authorities from the Mundhwa police station, Pune City Police, have made significant progress in the case by apprehending three accused. The arrested persons have been identified as Nagnath Patil, Rohit Ghadge, and Sunny Chavan, all of whom are approximately 20 years old and residents of Manjari.
According to the police, the incident occurred when the accused individuals were gathered near the cowshed adjacent to the residence of the deceased, Rabindra Digambar Gaikwad. It is believed that they were engaged in a heated quarrel. Gaikwad, concerned about the situation, confronted them regarding their presence at that time.
The youths initially left the scene. However, they returned later armed with various weapons, including knives, and launched a vicious attack on Gaikwad, resulting in his tragic demise around 3:30 pm on April 30th. The incident took place on the road near Gurukripa society in Gaikwad Vasti, Keshavnagar.
The heinous crime sent shockwaves through the entire Keshavnagar area, leaving the local community in a state of fear and grief. In response to the killing, residents staged a powerful protest, observing a one-day shutdown of all businesses in the vicinity on May 1st, to express their outrage and demand justice.
To restore a sense of security and address the mounting concerns, the Mundhwa police conducted an extensive search operation, leading to the successful arrest of the suspects. In a show of determination and to boost the confidence of local residents, the police paraded the arrested individuals in the area.
