Shivajinagar, 20th February 2023: A 50-year-old woman has filed a complaint against Assistant Police Inspector (API) Chandrakant Bhagwan Mane, posted at the Police Training Centre in Solapur, accusing him of pressuring her to withdraw a rape case filed in 2020 at Samarth police station and threatening her life.

An FIR has been registered against Mane at the Shivajinagar Police Station. The accused had reportedly called the victim to the canteen inside the Shivaji Nagar court premises on February 17, where he threatened her and instructed her to withdraw the case. The victim claimed that Mane verbally abused and threatened her, adding that “top cops” were accessible to him and that the case had been pending in the high court because of her.

Mane has also been named in another FIR filed in Solapur for molestation.
