Pune: Attempted Robbery at Petrol Pump in Pisoli Foiled, Four Arrested
Kondhwa, 20th February 2023: Pune Police have foiled an attempted robbery at a petrol pump in the Kondhwa area, and have arrested a gang of four people in connection with the crime. The accused were reportedly found in possession of sharp weapons and were allegedly preparing to rob the Dharmawat petrol pump in the Pisoli area.
The Kondhwa police received a tip-off from an informer and conducted a patrol in the area, leading to the arrests.
The accused have been identified as Mahesh Baban Gajesingh, Ritesh Aba Kharav, Madhav Narayan Ankushe and Mahendra Nanasaheb Patil. The police have seized a number of items from the gang, including two sharp koytas, one sharp sword, four two-wheelers, and chilli powder, with a total value of around Rs 3,80,450. Mahesh Baban Gajesingh has a prior criminal record, according to the police.
All the accused have been remanded in police custody for five days and a case has been registered against them.
