Shivajinagar, 3rd September 2025: At Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai Chowk, near Bal Gandharva Rangamandir in Pune, a dramatic performance based on the mythological story of Raktabeej Rakshas Vadh was showcased today, drawing huge crowds and applause from the audience.
The show recreated the legendary battle from the Devi Mahatmya, where the demon Raktabeej, blessed with a boon that every drop of his blood created another clone, challenged Goddess Durga. Despite his terrifying power, the demon was ultimately defeated when Goddess Kali appeared, drinking every drop of his blood before it touched the ground. This unique act highlighted the final victory of good over evil.
The audience was deeply engaged in the performance, appreciating both the storytelling and the cultural importance of keeping such traditional tales alive. Organizers said the event aimed to remind people of the timeless values of courage, faith, and divine power.
