Pune: Autorickshaw Associations Protests Continue In City Today
Pune, 12th December 2022: Autorickshaw unions strike today has affected passengers in many parts of the Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The bandh has been called by the Anti-Bike Taxi Movement Committee to protest against illegal bike taxi services.
The rickshaw associations had called a bandh on 28th November against bike taxis running in the city. At that time, a large number of rickshaw owners participated in the bandh. A large march was organized at the Regional Transport Office (RTO). However, the bandh was suspended due to positive assurances from the administration. After that, there were disputes among some rickshaw associations. It was also seen that there was a split in the committee.
The Anti-Bike Taxi Movement Committee has called a rickshaw bandh today, stating that no action was taken regarding their demands.
