Warje, 8th March 2024: Following the conclusion of voting in the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, an unsettling incident occurred late Tuesday (7th May) night in the Ramnagar area of Warje Malwadi. Three individuals on a two-wheeler discharged firearms into the air around 11 PM. This event transpired after the smooth execution of voting in the constituency.

Expressing her concern on social media, Baramati MP Supriya Sule addressed the incident, denouncing it as an attempt to spread fear. She highlighted the unprecedented nature of such intimidation during the democratic process within the constituency. Sule emphasized the prevalence of voter intimidation in the area, stressing the need for swift and decisive action by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Law Enforcement Agencies.

The contest for the Baramati constituency gains significant attention due to the intra-family political rivalry within the Pawar clan. This election marks the first instance of members of the clan competing against each other following the split in the Nationalist Congress Party. Sitting MP Supriya Sule, daughter of Sharad Pawar, faces a closely contested battle against her sister-in-law Sunetra Pawar, the wife of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar.
